Acumen Fund

Acumen Fund is a philanthropic investment fund that provides practical solutions to the problems of access to water, energy, housing and medical care. It is unique in offering training, development and financial management for first-rate social entrepreneurs. Acumen Fund’s mission was inspired by a simple observation: philanthropic generosity alone cannot put an end to poverty. The fund trains leading social entrepreneurs to design and implement creative solutions to the problems of access to water, energy, housing and healthcare.

France

The Orchestra at School association has been working since 1999 to introduce the practice of music to all children, without distinction, with a particular focus on rural areas and underprivileged districts. Through orchestral practice, it aims to offer children facing difficulties or who come from disrupted families a renewed relationship with school and with artistic expression. Supported by the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations, SACEM (Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music) and Vivendi, Orchestra at School has been working since 2016 on the Dianoura! project, a one-of-a-kind musical experience.

UnLtd India

UnLtd India provides support for social entrepreneurs in the earliest stages of business creation, whether their venture generates revenue or operates as a non-profit. The organization pursues a three-fold mission: to identify the best social entrepreneurs, provide them with expertise and coaching, and support them during development and fundraising. Together, UnLtd India and the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations have created a philanthropic fund specialized in profit-making enterprises developed within the incubator itself.

The Fundació Joves Navegants de Balears

The Fundació Joves Navegants upholds the spirit of solidarity among sailors, developed in particular through the practice of sailing. With this ambition as its guide, the Foundation organizes educational programs for underprivileged youngsters.

Common Cents

Education lies at the heart of national priorities both in Europe and the United States. Certain organizational models that are perceived as groundbreaking in educational innovation – such as Common Cents – deserve support. The “service-learning” model developed by Common Cents is based on philanthropy’s most fundamental values. It enables children between the ages of four and 14 to become active and aware philanthropists from a very young age.

ERT Treat Vision

The TREAT VISION-Technological Research Team seeks to discover the fundamental links between the human eye and the brain, conducting research on normal and damaged brains in both children and adults. The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations extend their support to this research project as part as their core commitment to the development of scientific knowledge in ophthalmology and neuroscience.

Created in 1991, CEJI – A Jewish Contribution to an Inclusive Europe trains and supports change agents from all sectors towards a vision of an inclusive and democratic Europe where people can enjoy their full potential across all identities.

The Artères Foundation

Artères is a non-profit, private foundation whose mission is to improve patient comfort and support medical research. Currently-available medical imaging tools have several limitations. They can only provide 2D images that are pre-recorded and intended for use in diagnosis and pre-operatory investigations. Because these tools are complicated to use and costly, they are not available on a wide scale. Tools that provide 3D imaging would prove highly valuable during operations, in particular in the event of a stroke.

Three Faiths Forum

The Three Faiths Forum was founded in London in 1997 by Sir Sigmund Sternberg, Reverend Dr. Marcus Braybrooke and Sheikh Dr. MA Zaki Badawi. The purpose of this association is to develop new methods to facilitate dialogue and promote exchange among the three major monotheistic faiths and their communities. It organizes seminars and develops innovative educational programs.

The Memorial Adolphe de Rothschild Professorship

The Memorial Adolphe de Rothschild Professorship was created in 2007 at the University of Geneva for research and clinical applications in neuroscience. Neuroscience and ophthalmology are the focus of the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations in the field of medical research. In order to contribute to advances in clinical and fundamental research in these areas, the Foundations provide support for a neurosciences chair at the University of Geneva – the Memorial Adolphe de Rothschild Professorship. This initiative is built on an innovative partnership between private philanthropy and higher education in Switzerland.

Actions de médiation culturelle Théâtre de Vidy

Since the 2015/2016 season, the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations have committed to working alongside the Vidy Theater in its cultural outreach efforts, which target young migrants and adult refugees and aims to help them to integrate, both socially and professionally, with the help of theater. In addition to this, the Vidy Theater is spreading the message of cultural diversity to its many audiences in Lausanne through conversations held in workshops, events and shows; it hopes to become an agora where the different cultures of Lausanne can come together.

The Ariane de Rothschild Women Doctoral Program

By providing the opportunity for talented female scholars to pursue their research, the Ariane de Rothschild Women Doctoral Program promotes gender equality within the academic world. The Ariane de Rothschild Women Doctoral Program awards four outstanding female doctoral students scholarships to study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJ). Addressing the continuing under-representation of women in Israeli higher education, the scholarships are designed to enhance the academic standing of talented women scholars in a variety of fields.

Mozaïk RH advocates equal opportunity through equal treatment.

The arcades: Walter Benjamin

After previously sponsoring Unorthodox, an exhibition presented by the Jewish Museum in 2015-2016, the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations are renewing their partnership with this major New York cultural institution by supporting new temporary exhibition, The Arcades: Contemporary Art and Walter Benjamin. From March 17 to August 6, 2017, this exhibition will bring together archives and contemporary works of art associated with Benjamin’s Arcades Project (Das Passagen-Werk in German), a programmatic work by the great Jewish thinker.

As’trame

The As’trame Foundation provides specialized psychosocial and non-medical support for any individual who is affected by a form of link breakage (bereavement, divorce, sickness, etc.) through a methodology known as Reliance. When not treated adequately, link breakages threaten the balance of families and individuals, particularly children. To cope with this challenge, As’trame has developed two complementary tools.

Réseau Môm'artre

The Môm’artre network offers flexible and local child care services after school, all day Wednesday (a day off in France’s primary school system) and during school holidays. After school and before dinner at home with their families, kids at Môm’artre enjoy their end-of-day activities like snack time and homework in a welcoming environment with volunteers. The six- to eight-week art workshops offered are a core part of Môm’artre’s program: in addition to flexible child care, the program is dedicated to children’s personal development.

The International Polar Foundation

The mission of the International Polar Foundation is to provide information and increase awareness among the general public and political leaders about its research findings in the polar regions to lead to a greater understanding of the key mechanisms underlying climate change. The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations participated in the establishment of this Foundation and support its education and communications initiatives – in particular those designed with young people in mind.

The pavillon Plantamour - La Libellule

The Foundations have supported the restoration of a former orangery located on the magnificent shores of Lake Geneva. Renamed pavillon Plantamour, this unique site offers a rare opportunity for communion with nature.
