Best Practices in Philanthropy

Inspire, Rally, Collaborate

Whether small-scale or large-scale, or active in the North or South, philanthropists are key players in responding to today’s social inequalities and divisions. The challenges involved require us to move beyond state intervention and to give civil society initiatives a greater role. As a space for commitment and exploration, philanthropic activity therefore represents a highly appropriate vehicle for renewing models of development. The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations see both a reaffirmation of their historic values and the tasks of modernizing and sharing their practices as central to their mission.
