L’Ecole Boulle: excellence trips in 2011

9/7/2011 - Arts

The partnership established four years ago between Ecole Boulle and the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations to support the cost of the educational trips so essential to a student’s academic and social development is becoming a clear model of excellence and social commitment.

This year, 138 students from five different Ecole Boulle programs, working on projects with local residents and craftspeople, traveled to New York, Madrid, Fez, Rome and Eguzon in France as part of a joint initiative with prestigious local partners such as the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, the London Metropolitan University and the Lycée Moulay Idriss in the heart of the Medina of Fez.
The work completed during these trips attests to the value of the Foundations’ and Ecole Boulle’s joint efforts.

In 2011, the partnership will be extended: a call for projects to organize “excellence” trips will be launched starting in the fall at Ecole Boulle. The Foundations will provide support to socially valuable initiatives that are creative and ambitious, including institutional and cultural partnerships, knowledge sharing and promoting local resources in France and abroad.

A committee will meet in the fall to select original project(s) that provide students with a unique human, technical and artistic experience in a climate of excellence and openness. Results for the 2011-2012 project campaign will be published in a few months.
