2011 Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship – Second seminar at ESSEC Business School
Following the first two-week training seminar held in Cambridge, last July, 19 social entrepreneurs selected as 2011 Fellows met from January 3 to January 6 at ESSEC Business School to take part in leadership and intercultural dialogue classes, business plan strategy workshops and cultural visits. This second edition allowed 2011 Fellows to continue making progress on their respective projects after six months of further development.

Ruta de la Sal 2011: 2nd place finish for the Joves Navegants
Created in Mallorca by a team of English and Mallorcan sailors and modeled on British sailing clubs, the Joves Navegants Foundation teaches underprivileged teens how to sail. The Foundation, which encourages teamwork, respect for the environment and dedication to a common interest, selects eight Mallorcan teenagers every year to take part in the famous Ruta de la Sal regatta between Barcelona and Ibiza.
The 2011 AdR Fellowship: 25 new social entrepreneurs
The 25 social entrepreneurs selected for this year’s Ariane de Rothschild (AdR) Fellowship Program completed an intensive training course at Cambridge University last July. They received a diploma for their brilliant performance from Ariane de Rothschild at the program’s closing dinner, and are now members of the transatlantic AdR Fellows Network. Active in France, the UK and the US, the network has already recruited 75 social entrepreneurs since its creation three years ago.

22nd Conference of the European Foundation Centre in Caiscais

Acumen Fund East Africa Fellows
The Edmond de Rothschild Foundations, the Acumen Fund and Kenya’s KCB Bank Group selected 30 social entrepreneurs in East Africa for its one-year executive program, which is aimed at offering these leaders an opportunity to develop their skills with seminars on leadership, development strategy and social enterprise management.
