Firoz LADAKFiroz LADAK

Since 2005, Firoz Ladak has led the strategy, international development, and financial management of the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations. He spearheaded the transition from a longstanding tradition of charity to venture philanthropy driven by impact. Collaborating closely with the Rothschild family, he has helped to transform their legacy into a formidable force for change. He has managed more than 100 programs across the arts, entrepreneurship, health, and education through a network of 10 foundations that improve the lives of thousands of beneficiaries in Europe, the United States, West Africa, South Asia, and Israel.
 
Firoz draws from his solid investment banking experience at BNP Paribas and Société Générale in mergers & acquisitions, project finance, and the setup of public-private partnerships, particularly in emerging markets. He is steering the move of capital portfolios towards sustainable investment driven by social, environmental, and governance guidelines (ESG). In 2013, Firoz founded ERFIP, a unique circle of families from Frontier Markets that harnesses knowledge and collaboration to catalyze social and economic development. Firoz is also advising wealth management at Edmond de Rothschild group on the development of philanthropic strategies for clients.
 
He currently sits on the board of various foundations, including the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations network; Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild, a university hospital specializing in ophthalmology and neuroscience in Paris; Admical, France’s leading think tank for corporate philanthropy; and Carnegie Hall in New York. His work and viewpoints have featured in the French and international press, such as Le Monde, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, and El Pais. Firoz holds a BA in economics/political science from McGill University and completed an MPhil in Oriental Studies from the University of Oxford as an Aga Khan Foundation Scholar. He is a French and Canadian citizen and resides in Geneva with his wife and daughter.

Carole MBAZOMOCarole MBAZOMO

Carole Mbazomo joined the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations in 2014 as Program Manager for Arts. She has directed the Foundations’ Arts department since 2018.

Carole holds an undergraduate degree in European Engineering Business Management and a masters in International Business Management with a concentration in Economic Intelligence. She explores horizons ranging from communications to business development. Through her wide geographic exposure – Paris, Barcelona, Geneva, Heraklion, Coventry, Yaoundé – Carole became interested in creative and cultural industries, particularly the creation and management of sites serving as platforms for vocational development. 

With one foot in Europe, the other in Africa, Carole engages with students to reflect on economic models for cultural programmes and methods for evaluating their impact (SciencesPo and the Université Sorbonne-Nouvelle in Paris, UPAC in Yaoundé). As mentor for the Mozaïk RH association, Carole accompanies young graduates in their search for employment in the cultural and creative sectors. 

Alongside her professional work, Carole’s passion for writing and travel has led her to co-create Ônoan (“bird” in the Cameroonian Ewondo language), a program to support young African writers.

Angelo KONIANAngelo KONIAN

Angelo Konian joined the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations in 2016 as Director of Health and Entrepreneurship.

Angelo graduated with a Master in management from Neoma Business School in Paris. He previously worked as a consultant with Accenture France, where he was in charge of transformation programmes in the energy and water sectors as well as humanitarian projects in Europe and in Africa.

Based on this experience, Angelo decided to dedicate himself to impact-driven projects where his skills in project management could make a difference. Within the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations, he designs and scales solutions for greater impact in partnership with entrepreneurs and agents of change.

Rachida EL HAWZALIRachida EL HAWZALI

Rachida joined the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations in 2017 and is currently a Program Manager in Entrepreneurship and Health.

Rachida graduated with a Masters in 'Lettres modernes appliquées' from the Sorbonne (Paris IV) as well as a Masters in Management from ESSEC Business School where she majored in Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship.

Her passion for social innovation has led her around the world to places such as San Francisco, Abidjan and Tunisia with the likes of foundations and entrepreneurs who are dedicated to resolving social and environmental issues.

Honorine LANTELMEHonorine LANTELME

Honorine Lantelme is Program Manager for the Arts at Edmond de Rothschild Foundations. After a preparatory course in the humanities, she studied aesthetics at the Université Paris IV-La Sorbonne and Cultural Industries Management at ESCP Europe and Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

The knowledge of philanthropic issues Honorine gained through experience as a long-term volunteer with the Fondation du Patrimoine and as a fundraiser for various French and Italian cultural institutions has given her the insight to address the specific needs of arts-based organisations with which the Foundations engage. 

Joseph WARNERJoseph WARNER

Joseph Warner joined the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations in early 2020. He serves as personal assistant to the CEO, Firoz Ladak.


Joseph received his B.A. in ancient history from Tulane University in New Orleans. His graduate study at the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris focused on the history of architecture and the building trades, completed by a master’s course in historic gardens and estates at the school of architecture at Versailles.
Joseph previously worked in research, communications and business development abroad for one of France’s leading historic restoration firms, with job sites across Europe, the Americas and the Far East.


In his work alongside Firoz Ladak, Joseph enjoys participating in the ongoing search to intelligently bridge past legacies with new visions for the world of today.

Reima SHAKEIRReima SHAKEIR

Reima Shakeir, Ph.D., is an international scholar and nonprofit executive focused on improving diversity and inclusion. Her extensive experience in research design and execution informs the strategic roadmap and operating model for the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship, an international network of leaders for social change from minority communities in Europe and North America.

Following undergraduate work in English and Comparative Literature at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Reima earned an M.A. in English Literature from Harvard University (Dean’s Academic Achievement Award, Derek Bok Public Service Award). She received her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania with double distinction.

As part of the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship, Reima completed studies in Executive Education through the University of Cambridge (UK) and ESSEC Business School (France). 

Reima also teaches organisational communication at NYU’s Stern School of Business.
